I received a call yesterday concerning an owl that had been discovered in a local barn with a broken neck. The landowner had enjoyed watching a pair of owls spend the Winter roosting in one of the boxes and hunting the vole-rich land.

Upon inspecting the nest box I discovered a pair of nesting Stock Doves roosting in place of the owls, however upon checking the adjacent box, this pair of owls were huddled together and are all set to raise a brood in 2012.
